Aside from setting up a booth during the Makers Meet, Realfun Learning Centre also participated in the Knowledge Camp. In the Knowledge camp, we provided training and conducted the AI (Artificial Intelligence) mobile app competition for the participants.
The Knowledge Camp started on the 25th of November, with an ice-breaking session with the participants. Then, we taught the students the introduction of AI, followed by Machine Learning. Later that evening, we continued the lesson on how to create a mobile app using the MIT App Inventor and briefed them on the competition.
The AI mobile app competition began as soon as the students finished learning everything on the first day. On the morning of the 26th of November, the students continued to create their AI mobile app independently with their team members. It was the time when they applied what they had learned the previous day about AI, building mobile apps and machine learning, and transforming their knowledge into an AI Mobile App with image recognition capabilities.
Once they finished creating their app, they then presented their creation to the judges within 5 minutes. Each team had to demonstrate their mobile app’s effectiveness in detecting predefined items to the judging panel on top of sharing what they had learned during the Knowledge Camp.
The results spoke volumes about the participants’ dedication and newfound expertise. Team 1 ended up winning the Champion title, while Team 2 secured the first Runner Up position, and Team 4 won the Second Runner Up spot. Then, Consolation prizes were awarded to the rest of the teams.

The Makers Meet 2023’s Knowledge Camp was a resounding success. We were happy and proud of all the participants as they got to learn and apply their knowledge on the go. Not only did they learn theoretical concepts of AI but translated them into real-world solutions during the competition. Overall, the Knowledge Camp was a great chapter for Realfun Learning Centre as it left behind a sense of accomplishment and the promise of future innovation and learning in the dynamic world of Artificial Intelligence.
